Servus? Where's it gone?

Hi there. I've been with servus for a few months now, and they haven't been bad... but now, they seem to have disappeared. My site has been down weeks now.

Have they closed down? Will they be back? Should I wait any longer, or just scrap the hosting account and move on somewhere that will give me a decent service (phew, luckily I only lost $10!)

Donovan the owner ( a good friend) sold servus a couple weeks ago to exa-bytes.com. Although reporting to him I was unable to access his site for the last month or so he said he had no problems.

So, do you know what the future will hold?

I mean, will my site be moved to a new server, will it be cancelled, will I be offered a refund?

Anything else you can tell me would help immensely...

I was with Servus and received an e-mail from exa-bytes saying that they were taking over Servus's customers and would be offering similar plans on their servers. Maybe you should e-mail exa-bytes and ask them about your account and see if they can set up one for you.

I had Servus's $29.95/year plan and was informed that I would receive a plan similar to the previous one, and I would receive a one month extension before my year was up!

Hi there,

I e-mailed Exa-bytes a few days ago, and it seems that the address I signed up for servus with doesn't work any more, so I missed the mail. Anyway, all's well as they set me up another account so now my problems are solved.

But, is there any way for me to get some data from the old server? Because I didn't recieve the mail, it didn't give me a chance to backup, so I lost some important stuff (namely my forum system.) Will exa-bytes be able to give this to me now or has it been wiped?

I accessed my old site a few times when servus came up, but it seems to be gone for good now. I pinged their website and it said the domain didn't exist or something like that.
