Warez are what makes the industry work. If we didn't have all the popup, porn banners, and forced voting to get to non-working links so that we'd just give up and go buy it, the software industry would lose more money.

If we didn't have them in the first place we would be forced to buy it, kind of dictates your statement in less words. ;)

If the stupid companies charged less, there would be no warez.

If the companies charges nothing, there wouldn't be warez.
Of course, not spending money will cause some serious problems in the economic cycle. Just learned about all this economic junk (actually, reviewed it, have a test tomorrow but had forgotten everything about it), so I'm just trying to show off. :p

Some of the companies overchage way too much for software. Adobe Photoshop is ridiculous. To upgrade from 5.5 to 6.0 or whatever, it typically costs like 200 bucks. I don't even think the entire program is worth 200 bucks. Thankfully there are alternatives (PSP), and even an open-source photoshop-like program (gimp.org

To have to pay full price just to *upgrade*, after spending $500-600 for a program in the first place, seems a bit ridiculous to me. :(

Which will trigger even more warez. Then Office 2005 will be $1,000,000,000. This will give you more warez. Then Office 2007 will cost more than Bill Gates' wealth. Then there will be more warez... Don't you just love how the world works?

I hope he drops dead before he ever gets to Office 2002. He's a major money sucker.

I don't know what I did before warez. I'm 15, so I don't have money to buy things like PhotoShop. About 6(?maybe more) months ago, I stumbled(I might have been searching for one) across site where you can get full version software. Since then, I have been able to do many things with my computer I never thought would interest me before. Now, I'm making websites, Flash things, 3D artwork, and more. I can actually create (semi)good quality products with my computer. I love the effect it has had. I think now, that I have an interest in these areas, I might actually buy the software when I'm older(and I have a credit card).

Software for charity would be cool. or if you got supplied with the sofware if you promised to wear ther shirt to school (and get your --- kicked for being a geek) "look at my sweet new Adobe t-shirt" ;)

LOL, while I'm no fan of Bill Gates, it's a little harsh to wish him dead. He's no worse than any of his predecessors (Carnegie, Rockerfeller, Morgan and other big business tyrants of yesteryear). In my honest opinion, he's probably a bit better. PJ Morgran for example, never donated to charity and said "i owe the public nothing". Gates on the other hand, does donate money to charity. I know that with his wealth that's the very very very least thing he could do, but he doesn't jump on a pedestal about it either. I used to really hate him for not donating to charity, until I learned that he did, and just wasn't real public about it.

Steve Jobs, Steve Case, and any CEO would be doing the same thing if they were in Gate's position.

LOL, isn't it funny how Gates isn't the CEO of Microsoft anymore though? It just doesn't seem like it ;0

That's how I got into computers and making websites ... which was about 6 to 7 years ago. Now that I understnad what companies go thu when the software is out on the internet and their losing money ... I go and buy the software and try to recommend as many people as I can. But a lot of the kids of today started out in the "warez" community it's amazing. A lto of my friend now are big time shots with some major computer companies all thanks to the illegal ways of "warez" :D

Anybody know why it's called warez? Is it some word from a dictionary, or an addv that stands for something?
