Hi all,
Would appreciate some advice/comments on my site. Its nothing much, but it has potential. I think its a pretty simple/plain site, but it is a start at least. I do like the forum theme and the weblog one is a default one which I probably should change but it doesnt look too bad I think.
Its basically just a weblog site (any one wanna join?) a little car page I made, a on site tech quote page with some tech support sites and the forum :)
The intention of having the name darklite lore is.. well I liked the word darklite for some reason and I picked lore as it means "Accumulated facts, traditions, or beliefs about a particular subject. Knowledge acquired through education or experience.
Archaic. Material taught or learned. " So I'd like a website to help people with tech probs or anyone who wants to chat/dicuss certain topics.
Would love to hear your comments.
Many thanks. :D

For starters, I don't think there is a need to have a hyperlink in your title "Welcome to The darklite lore." After all we are already there
I would tidy up the opening page a little also.
I couldn't access the forums as it took me to this URL http://www.darklite.f2s.com/YaBB/fade.js
The car page will need some work, but the tech page has potential, good luck with it! :cool2:
Oh and welcome to the forums from another Aussie :biggrin2:

YES! works fine now :biggrin2: But it looks a bit dark and dingy, can you give it more contrast? I know it is darklore but.....
And you already took off the hyperlink on the title! Good stuff! :cool2:

Nice site... but I can make a few suggestions... remove the period on the title... I would also recommend sticking to one style and make things consistent. Despite this, I think you site is pretty good, though dark.
I will give you an 8.3 out of 10.

Thankyou very much. I have tried to make the site with same colouring now. All using the same css file now which makes things easier. Took out the period aswell. I'll try stick to one style
Thanks again

Comments:
- Great lack of information. The weblog is a bunch of random things strewn together, and they're all off-site links. You need some exclusive articles hosted on your site. You can get this from looking around and finding a decent host. Overall, your site has very little information and a few links that go to off-site articles/sites. You should consider getting at least 10 articles done before releasing a site to the public.
- The cars section makes no sense and does not relate with the webpage. What does it have to do with your overall site and what is all that information at the bottom?
- Images? You really need at least an image to start your site off. Big bold text at the top stating your title isn't going to cut it. A logo is definitely needed.
- What's up with those lines running down the sides of the tables? Are they necessary? IMO, they don't look too good.
- The message board needs better customization. The small text at the very top telling the location looks ugly. The font used to write the title "darklite lore forum" doesn't look too good either. Also, shouldn't the Announcements forum be locked and allow posting only for administrators? I'm confused on that point too...Also, the "forum description" listed above the posts (and the page number) looks very awkward there. If possible, you should get rid of it.
- You should create a form, or at least a separate contact page. It's not very professional to include a link to your e-mail straight from the nav bar.
Overall: 71%
