Well,
After about two weeks of deciding what forum to use, ikonboard,VBlite, and so on...
I found Proboards to work great
anyone use them? If so give comments of them
Honestly, i think they are working great. They now have many servers for the forums, which is great...

That just looks like a remotely hosted YABB.

It is (At least their community is)....and I bet YaBB would be pissed if they found out....unless they already know:confused:

Nah, I bet YaBB already knows, proboard is very popular. Other free YaBB boards including www.xsorbit.com and www.boardnation.com

Yes, I have contacted (in the past) YaBB, and they confirm that Proboards and XsOrbit have purchased licenses for using the YaBB script. However, I don't know about Boardnation...

Proboards is a terribly inflexible remotely hosted board. I'm thinking about moving them down on my list of free message board hosts. (Damn, I really need to update that page!)

Proboards inflexible? Please do some research before you make assumptions... I posted a proboard here before and I will do it again:

http://geforce.proboards4.com - Take a look at how customized this one is.

No offense, but it isn't customized that well. I see some definite effort in terms of the colors, but the problem lies in the images. I really don't see any image customization, which should be a given for all highly customized message boards. Is this possible (in an easy and painless way)? Also, from the inflexible look of all YaBB boards, I'm assuming that HTML customization is not possible either?

I'm considering signing up for a Proboards myself to test out their features.

HTML Customization is possible in Proboards... if you sign up for it you can find this out.

Yes please, that will help your judgement.

Proboards is okay, if you take the time. Yabb itself if probably the worst if the popular groups of message boards. I wish someone would wish free remote hosted phpBB2's, that would be cool.

It's all about money. These hosts always buy the cheapest license possible, and phpBB 2.0 might cost a lot.

I can see where you have a point, YABB is terribly inefficient and a drag on server resources. I think just the service costs saved would make up for the liscense.
