XMB sucks. I don't have much faith in it's security.
OpenBB is still kinda buggy.
PhpBB 2 hasn't reached a stable release yet, but it's still by far the best.

[add]if u want to create subcat or subforums, go with wbb. otherwise phpbb2.

XMB, phpBB, openBB, wbb are all fine. With their goods and their bads. I think that someone has to try all of them and understand which one is for him.

Well obiously any free board is going to have to have great support to stay in business, I am currently thinking about buying a vB lisence because I like and respect the board so much.

The best Board you can get is WBB 1.1.1

I tried experimenting with many boards including ikonboard, phpbb, snitz, wbb, etc but no one is like OpenBB. So smoooooooth installation.
The features are equal to phpbb, ikonboard. I haven't seen any bugs.
Only thing lacked was, I have to upload myown avatars and images.
Otherwise I love OpenBB. It's really cooool stuff.

I have loads on phpBB''s on our servers but not one will make me a cup of tea or massage my shoulders after I've been sat at the computer for 20 hours straight. These have got to standard requirements when choosing a decent broad. :D
