They are UK domains, I think they cost 24.95/year, not sure if its pounds or dollars.

if you buy them from a cheap registrar you will be able to pick them up for the nominet fee of £2.50, but some companys can charge up to £20 a year o.0

But the nominet charge is £2.50 a year... so I guess the £1.99 is the price they charge you to register plus the nominet fee....

No there was nothing else to pay just 2 years registration. Additional was VAT. and it works. www.whakapapa.co.uk registered last week.
