and also i can;t guarantee 100% uptime for ftp...
however i can guarantee 90%.

I am currently trying to update my hardware, but about connection i have a 1.5 mbit business1 connection , i dont know why my isp named it business1. and upload 512 k.
The problem is that my hdd is only 4 GB. So i can give you only 80 MB. Maybe 100 mb if you need. If you want pm me with the information. Perl, php, mySQL is installed. Nothing more.
My connection can produce 90+ Gb/ day......

512 k is upload yo! i think its more than enough for a small webserver. 1.5 mbit is download. i dont use the same connection to browse the internet, its a computer only kept for the server, however sometimes, i use to keep look at it and and check all the files in it.
by 90+ GB by day i meant that it produces more than 90 GB / day..
if you are not sure you can try yourself by looking at the connection speed. if you try by 512 that will also give you more than 40 GB / day.

Deeplist, I have to agree with him. Trenz, you will have to go paid... it is very difficult providing a lot now.

Paid hosting is also more reliable. You won't find anyone better really. These people who work at hosts are paid to give you a hosting service so they are obviously going to put in an effort to do that. Free hosts mess up because they don't get paid. I wouldn't constantly monitor someone's forum if I hosted it.

Yeah I must agree. Free hosts aren't reliable anymore. I went through a dozen free hosts before signing up with below10, and all of them went down and disappeared.

Precisely. New methods will need to be put in place. Not sure what but they will. Its time for people to realise banner ads will become wortless. Who actually clicks them? Last time I clicked one was months ago probably.

Well, I think a new approach rather than new methods. As I said earlier this new approach will be reducing the offer a bit.

Well, I just started up my webserver again.
It's off cable. I can gurantee a high percentage uptime.
I'll give you everything you require.
Just give me your site's stats and if I feel it's worth enough to host then I'll host it.
I can't offer DNS services, but mydomain.com is always an option.
About the no ads thing. Sorry. I will give you an option of placing the banner whereever you want or a pop-up on your main page. Plus a little button on your main page saying who you're hosted by.

Well shawn i do not want to exept that, as if it is off a home cable, it would be most likely breaking your ISP's rules, which therefor means you will get disconnected quick enough, and then i would be back to doing this again.

If I could get hosted for giving someone an irc script I wouldn't be looking for a really good paid host... JUST GET A GOOD PAID HOST LIKE I AM DOING! Then you should study.... it is commendable that you use a lot of time making scripts... but if your parents won't sacrifice money for a host, which could be $30 a year then it is not worth it.
