The limit is counted in the number of PMs, not kb. Remember, aside from the PMs in your inbox, saved PMs also count.

It's the sent folder that seems to accumulate. When I did a cleanout earlier there were some there still from November.

I delete some in the inbox daily once an issue is dealt with. Some will stay there for future reference.

Now out of habit I always uncheck the save message in sent folder option. It's a habit I rather like. :D
