It was the default colors used by vbulletin. The pink colors doesn't fit the rest of this site and I don't have any plans to change the current colors.

colour can be spelled both color and colour. and in Canada, we mainly use colour.

Even though I am American, I think that we should respect the original spelling. After all, Americanisms were only based off the British English, however strange we find their accent. :)
