I need to send a file to a friend which is about a 100mb. I don't want to use my hosting space and he is a 56k modem user. He must be able to download the file from a reliable source. I guess there are none.

What about your friends ISP? Would they allow such a large file on an email?

I'm not sure but I don't think many isp's allow big attatchments. I heard bt allow big one's though.

I'm guessing I could get in trouble and it probably wouldn't work. Did I guess right?

It would probably be better to use one of the file sharing things.
I remember someone once sent me a large file (never did find out how big) and it kept getting stuck after about half an hour of downloading. I ended up calling my ISP to remove it for me so I could get other mail.

The most I ever downloaded with a 56k is 300megs...
Anyway, just set up a FTP and make sure your friend's FTP client supports resume.
