However, talking about Cali, Texas is a self sufficient state (unlike bankrupt Cali. Texas is also the only state that has the legal authority to break away from the U.S. at any time, or could divide itself into 5 smaller states. If the laws in the U.S. become much more rediculous, maybe it would be better if we did go our own way... It's one of the few states that still supports the death penalty, we can carry guns concieled or unconcieled, still have the right to self defense by lethal means to protect family and property, etc, etc. Everyone else would like to see us change all that, I would like to see them mind their own business. They have their own states, leave us alone.....or better yet, come here personally and try to force us to change. They'll be going home in a casket :D

Anyway, cdudeuk18, the UK is by no means second [Japan is, after MacArthur's policies in Japan nearing the end of World War II]. The UK has been declining/stabalizing in industry, but not rising to a level that would surpass Germany/Japan, since the late 19th century, someone like you should know that as you probably have studied its history.

Actually I am partly right... no companies are doing well in the world market in the UK, Germany, or Japan. All are in financial mess. Don't even get me started about the French Financial system. Spain produces cars, industrial equipiment and Italy also produces cars additionally home/office appliances.

Spain and Italy will nonetheless overcome the rest of Europe because they are much faster growing... two-three times faster than the the rest of Europe in real GDP growth.

The US downturn is over... there wasn't any recession because the US GDP grew by .2% in the quarter after the negative growth, so recession is not the right definition.

Your country's GDP growth was .5%. Spain's is 2.0%, Italy's is around 1.5%.
