Going to open soon.. within a week.. same features as before, only user.t35.com instead of t35.com/user .. for those not familiar.. basic features are php, ssi, unlimited space, unmetered BW, web login, ftp login, mysql (comming soon), domain name hosting, etc.. all free... advertising will be as always, 1 pop-up under that will only show once every 24 hours to the visitors. (after they see one pop-up under, they will see no more ads on your page for 24 hours).. I will let everyone know when the opening date is decided upon, but it should be soon..

Yeah, and this time, don't put weird characters at the bottom of my site's pages. I'll be giving you another try if 9cy can't bring up the Online Entertainment Network by next week.

amelen
February 14th, 2002, 14:41
I still don't know why that happened.. but this time we are using a differnt OS and hosting script.. so it should be fixed..

I certainly hope so. I'd hate to have my site stuck on Demented.org for the rest of its life!

lol

i think the problem was mod_layout not liking that version of red hat (not the newest ver.).. we are using freebsd again though.. :)

is there any filesize limit? If there is none, then I will use your hosting for sure.

Luckily it was in F, at first I thought it was in C, you'll be burning if you measured it in C!

If I'm not mistaken, they have a 150 kb file size limit, unless that's changed. That's not a problem with me, though, because the largest file on my site is only 131 kb. Oh well, if that leaves you out, too bad, that just means more bandwidth for me!

Everything is almost done.. just need to get the second server up, and finish somethings with the script..

amelen,

PLEASE Don't ask for so much personal info and leave the default Apache Errorocuments intact.

amelen
February 15th, 2002, 19:57
Well i need some level of info.. it helps deter abuse. And the 404 page ad helps profit.. without it i would have to add more ads on the pages..

Okay. You should disable .htaccess as it'll drive ya server NUTS with people making password protected pages, customerror dcos, banning prople, crashing the server.

Sounds interesting. I've signed up with so many free hosts lately just looking for one that was as reliable as the now-seemingly-deceased Basicpoint. Ad banners are evil but I can live with a pop-under as long as the ad content isn't pr0n. :)

Anyhoo, I may just give T35 a try. Wishing you the best with your hosting efforts...

Hurry up, dude! Coolfreepages is starting to anger me, but for now, they're the best free host I've got, and they're the third host I've uploaded to in the last week since the OE Network decided to disappear (thankfully, I have a cable modem, and all three hosts had FTP). The sooner you open up T35 (or 9cy actually GIVES me a 100 mb account that he told me he'd setup for me), the sooner I can put this nightmare behind me (did I mention that Windows Media Player cannot play any of my .wav's larger than 92 kb on Coolfreepages (Netscape can though), even though they supposedly allow files up to 1 mb in size and the largest file on my site is only 131 kb?)!

Will you be up by Saturday?

hi, T35, is your new hosting plan having any filesize restriction? (eg 150kb?)

amelen
February 18th, 2002, 21:05
Almost ready.. just working on security..

yes, it will have limits.

February 18th, 2002, 21:55

Well, F2S went dead on free webhosting. (yah?) I wanna sign up for T35 too, but damn, i'm getting internal server errors after the sign up page. Oh well...

Ack! Your server wouldn't load one of my pages - it would just return a blank page with the pop-up javascript. And no matter what I named it, it would keep doing the same thing to that same page. Sorry, but I'm going with 9cy.

<<< EDIT >>> Never mind, I'll just improvise and re-write the messages on my pages that are "no shows" on T35, and hopefully, things will work out. It worked with the one page that wouldn't show so far. You should look into that ad script though, because it also puts an unnecessary amount of whitespace after my closing </html> tag. <<< /EDIT >>>

Fast php loading for me ... can't get a mysql database from anywhere though :cry2:

amelen
February 19th, 2002, 15:27
Hmm.. cracker.. i don't understand the problem.. can u e-mail me the page so i can look into it?

The "ad-software" is mod_layout .. an apache mod used by almost everyone.. And it doesn't nothnig to the footer of the page..

DCI
February 19th, 2002, 15:43
You said one ad. I went to one of the sites and it came back.

NC_TOM
February 19th, 2002, 15:44
mod_layout is a good way to go about this, because the code is used on all documents without altering the html.

Jei
February 19th, 2002, 16:00
Thanks a bunch! was getting worried i'd have no place to go when f2s goes down.:biggrin2:

doh, just read this in your faq:

Q: Why can't I upload CGI files?
A: Due to extreme abuse in the past, CGI/PERL is now only available as a paid upgrade. This includes .cgi and .pl files

oh well...

amelen
February 19th, 2002, 16:39
DCI.. because of the way cookies work with subdomains, u will see multiple ads if u go to differnt pages.. like if u go to demo.t35.com and then test.t35.com, the ad will come up again, because ur cookie treats it as a new domain. But it shouldn't make a difference.. ur visitors only go to uraccount.t35.com.

NC_TOM .. yeh.. many hosts use it... its very effecient..

So far at 400kb/s with 58 members signed up.. server seems to be holding so i will enable sign ups for everyone..

Yes, and this also means more pop-unders loaded and more revenue for you! I certainly don't have a problem with that.

Everything looking good.. already have a few hundred members .. after being open just a few hours..:biggrin2:

I'm there too :D I'd rather have user placed ads over popups though. And amelen, is it ok if i post my domain info over here, or to PM you? Too lazy to register for T35's forums, heh...

If the page would load, I might try to go w/o my newspro and MySQL for a while (Domain Hosting.. heh, I am cheap).
Until then.. well if I had an alternative, I would certainly tell you right here!

T35 is the best if you don't have files larger than 150 kb! Unlike 9cy, T35 has no stupid download pages.

WebEx
February 20th, 2002, 09:25
Let me say, I really like the way you put ads! Are you the first to think of that "pop-under every 24 hours" thing or did someone else? Cause it is a very good idea!

I wish I thought of that
