I thought a "romp" was a boyish girl. But that description doesn't fit the actors in this story.

(I really want to know what "romp" means.)

Oops! I guess I didn't read too good. My dictionary actually says:

Noun: romp
1. An easy victory
2. A girl who behaves in a boyish manner
3. Gay or light-hearted recreational activity for diversion or amusement

Kinda missed 3. :cry2:

In this case it was gay as in the generally accepted use of the word nowadays :confused2

Yes, but that isn't the meaning of the word, right? I only knew it could mean boyish girl before.

I just did. :p
It NORMALLY doesn't mean gay (homo), just merry, is that right?

It might be more British English, Blank Verse. Or an old expression. I actually learnt the tomboy meaning in school, so it must be right. :)

Yes gay does mean merry, shame the homos had to wreck a nice word :(

Prior to the current 'romp' definition, I pictured new born lambs romping around the paddock :classic2:

I know, but since romb can mean tomboy I was uncertain how gay gay should be here. :p
Thanks. ýk.

I thought the verb "romping" meant that you were playing around for fun.
