No, but if they're smart, they usually have an upgrade plan that might make them some money...if they're popular enough.

Well, they started out getting ripped-off by all the pop-under companies they worked with. According to Paul, he never got paid for the ads he put on sites. However, it seems like he's starting to get things back again over there. And with the launch of 9cy.net, I think 9cy will make a profit easily. :)

Awww shucks You think me smart :P

Everything is working out pretty good at the minute. I don't make profit at the minute but its all part of a bigger business plan. I would make profit if companies would pay out. Still hopefully get Doubleclick on the phone this week try serving some of there ads. Should have paid hosting launched soon to. Designs getting finished off everything else is ready.

I think with the decreasing bandwidth price, it should be easier for the host to survive, even the competition is hotter.

There are some companies charge less than $150 for 300 GB transfer now.

Let's take pop under for example. If the CPM is about $3, 100,000 pop unders should make slim profit margins for one server. Of course this is happening when you don't pay $10,000 per month for the staff.

If the popup ads don't serve their purpose, then they won't get them anymore :)

yeah, some should make money.... like the big ones such as lycos...
for smaller or lesser known ones, they'd need to stamp down on those ppl using javascript to stop ads loading
