Most people have heard of megatopicbb, it was a forum script. After a while, Wade, the developer quit. I have the one of the latest versions - megatopic v1.01. If any php/mysql skilled people are willing to participate then email me on sbloch@yahomail.ne.gs or post a reply here. I'm currently setting up a site with a megatopic forum to chat on. If any money is made, you will receive a fair portion, depending on how much you have done. Since I don't know php/mysql, you will get 60% of the earnings.

BTW. If anyone is willing to supply php/mysql web hosting, that will be greatly appreciated.

I am curious as to what you are asking people to do. Are you requesting assistance on installing this Forum, or are you asking people to help you out in developing the script further???

We are talking about a free board, $$ might be earned by adds that I'll put on when we get enough traffic.:) The board itself is free and will stay free.

hmmm... how can i explain this simple enough?

telnet is kind of like a direct backdoor connection to your site... almost like ftp, but... different. way different really. and not as stable. and all manually controlled with typed commands. get it?

Windows: Ctrl+Esc -> Run -> telnet host.name.tld

UNIX: telnet :p

For SSH however, you need puTTY or Win32SSH:

there are tons of telnet commands you need to know before you go and screw something up...

to make a directory in the current directory you're browsing called /anus/ type at the prompt:

mkdir anus

to move a file, type:

mv /current/location/of/file.htm /new/location/of/file.htm

there's a couple freebies, now go forth and learn. :cool:

You're supposed to use FTP for upload, not SSH [unless you have your stuff elsewhere on the net].

it comes with no instructions, so i follow these:
-open funstions.php, and edit the mysql variables
-chmod masterpass.php to 777
-run install.php

Well i have had no PHP or MySQL experience, but i have really wanted to learn. Do you think i could like help and learn by watching what you guys do.

And judging by how many bugs that other one has in it, i think we should call it BBB Buggy Bulletin Board
