I'm going to get a website at Sphosting.com and I need a free site that allows the storage of mainly .ram and .rm files, as well as occasionally .mp3. The faster it loads audio the better..thanks

For audio only, try stormload.com ...
I haven't used them for awhile but they stream things...

I tried it but it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. I'm going to have to link to these files..how about some so-called unlimited sites..such as the ones that can be searched on the site

Well, if you can live without the .mp3's, then try http://home.nbci.com/ . However, you must host your stream/download page on Nbci itself, or else they'll delete you.

I can live without the .mp3's. In fact, I only will probably have .rm's. I need an area where I can upload .rm files via FTP. At my Sphosting site I'm going to put the .ram files linked to the ones where the .rm's are.

There is an area you can use; it's called a RealServer. Sorry, but you must actually pay to use one of those, I haven't yet heard of a free RealServer.

You can stream static files from normal HTTP hosts. I think this is what he is talking about.

Yes .. that's what he means.
You can not stream RM files from Streamload.com ... at least from what I know. For FREE hosts that allow you to "STORE" your RM files on their server.
Try:
http://www.nbci.com
http://www.xoom.com
http://www.geocities.com
Another "BIG" FWP ... their is no for sure chance though that your users will get a connection everytime to the file. That's the the price to pay for using a FWP.
If you really want a good connection I suggest you go with a PAY HOST. Which in the long run will be well worth it!
As for what protocals to use for calling the RealAudio file ... try these
In the EAM file you can use http:// and RTSP://
When you want a direct link no Ram file .. use this one --> PNM://
I hope that can help.

When I had a website before, I stored at Xoom, but now since it's owned by NBCi I don't know if I use them. Do they have all the capabilities I need..will they allow me to store .rm files and stream .ram files from another site?
Geocities doesn't give enough space so I don't want to use that..thanks..
