Well, it was immediately evident to me that he came from China from his writing style. He's said it himself already, so I guess it really isn't a mystery. Another note, in case you're wondering: Chinese people generally struggle with tenses when writing English.

Hmm...I didn't say that all Chinese people have that problem, especially if they have a foreign education.

The people from HK and Taiwan in my American school here in China (they don't allow students with a Chinese passport) are mostly getting Cs, Ds, and Fs on essays because of tense and subj./vb. agreement.

well... sortuv true, we just slap an extra word or two along with a verb to refer to the past and stuff...
