been looking and looking...still looking...was wondering if anyone could suggest a site that has 100megs and supports Frontpage 2000 and extensions? Eventually will be looking for paying for a site but right now would prefer a free site. Thanks! c,")

Well, it doesn't really matter to them where you're actually located, heck, you can claim that you're from Antartica when you're really from the Philippines for all they care... the fact only concerns you. Usually, .com.uk means that the server's based in the UK, so connections to their servers from UK *might* be faster than from the US or Japan. Really, though, unless they specifically state that you must be from some country in order to sign up, nobody's gonna give a crap about where you are from. :)

Tripod UK - is .co.uk not .com.uk
Anyway, the server isn't located in the UK anyway. I believe it is located in Germany.
Just tried the page for comparison purposes, Both http://www.tripod.com and http://www.tripod.co.uk load fast, but I think the .co.uk has the edge (I live in the UK, so tripod.co.uk is geographically closer to me anyway)

Getting on FTP first time here.. But as you mentioned in a conversation with me KaylinQ, you are using frontpage, and I too cannot upload via frontpage.
Anyone successfully managed to upload via frontpage to tripod uk?

Have you heard: "they're dying"? You have to move all banners above the fold, they're loosing 40 grand a year, you have to maintain a CTR. They're dying. Once again, Canada is to blame ;).

How many FreeWebSpace Providers in the U.S. do you see dying? Many...

Hmmm...i signed 2 accounts there, no problems with giving them exacly the same name & emailadresses (Normally when you sign 2 accounts with the same names & emails they tell you something like "You have already ONE account, ONLY ONE account allowed").
To make this deal perfect there should be a FTP....but itīs OK as it is !

What are the making their money with ? No ads, no banners...nothing !
Onregister.com i found that e-off belongs to this one here:
http://www.i-p-hosting.com/
but it didīnt make me wiser than before. As i wrote i signed up twice, no problems, and in the meantime i signed up 5 accounts at e-off (i know iīm a bad boy ;-). Upload works fine, but FTP would be nicer anyway. Letīs hope their service will stay !
Greets !

I believe Master C was reffering to the e-off.co.uk fwp, not tripod.co.uk :)

So he was - but I was in a rush, and I have a terrible cold - might be flu or something :(
So I might be on these boards more over the next few days if things get much worse (well actually if they get much worse I'll be in bed)

We got a little confused.. (Well I did)
You were talking about e-off I was talking about tripod.. But this is a general looking for freewebspace kind of thing ;)

I was wrong, īcos i used the wrong thread. But anyway: You want to hear about this "strange" e-off.co.uk-provider ?
1. I donīt the H*ck know how they make money out of it, but the service is (although itīs only 25 MB of space) VERY nice.
2. I signed up 5 accounts now (=125 MB), all with the same name & same emailadress...no problem.
3. They only have this www-upload-feature: You can chose up to 5 files from a filesselector-box and then upload these 5 files (At a very good speed).
4. They have NO TOS (!)
5. I can now use the uploaded files in my "real" homepage (The links to the files are http://users.e-off.co.uk//myname/filename.xxx). When somebody clicks on the links on my homepage there is a imediatly start of the download-process ! No change of the background (To the e-off-homepage) or anything else...it just works fine !
6. I placed a kind of "fake-homepage" on all my e-off-accounts so they might think i use it for normal propose (This homepage is a smaller version of my "real" homepgae, only containing the things iīve uploaded to e-off).
7. The only thing that worries my is that i dont know what their intention with this service is, go to http://www.e-off.co.uk and take a look: Nothing there, only the login or sign-in options.
I hope their service wil stay, becourse itīs a stupid work to upload only 5 files at a time instead of using FTP for example......letīs wait and see :-))

They're fast, yup... and yes, they've got not TOS, no nuthin else besides the signup and log in on their site except a contact webmaster link.
Hope they'll last, it seems good right now. And it would be nice if they offered FTP.
