The largest boards i frequent are WHT, the forums at www.mauisun.org (yes it looks extremely lame, but they are a friendly bunch), And I moderate a rather large iB (6150 members, most online 807)

IGN isn't totally subscription based. Anybody can sign up to their forums, but to get these "extra features" like markup code and an avatar (things that should be free), you have to pay extra money. Those no good greedy b*star*s. :)
