Did you allow 24-48 hours for your ISP's DNS servers to update?

Yes i did.
so did i do it right?
there is a fullstop/period after everyone.net? ie "sitemail.everyone.net."

also i think i saw somewhere "mydomain.com." instead of "mydomain.com" which one is right?

When dealing with DNS entries, if you are using a full qualified domain, you have to end it with a period. If you are just mentioning a subdomain, the system (usually some BIND) will append your hostname to that.

So... for: http://www.mydomain.com can be written:

mydomain.com. IN A 123.14.14.1
http://www.mydomain.com. IN CNAME mydomain.com.

or

mydomain.com. IN A 123.14.14.1
www IN CNAME mydomain.com.
