Anyone know what's up with them? When I logged in this morning, my site came up as unavailable, and every other site I know that's hosted by Tera-Byte is not coming up either, including http://www.tera-byte.com. I checked my counter logs and the last hit recorded is 00:09 and it's now 07:54, so it looks like it's been down for awhile. :(

According to steve they are doing some major re-routing work which has taken longer than they expected. everyone with dedicated servers were informed.

The whole tera-byte network is unreachable - You'll find more details at it if you go here -

It's up, but something's wierd now. That error I had with Netscape 4, where only the logo would load for some reason, is now happening with IE 5.5. No clue why. :(

Now it works again....
Something wierd though... I have two different counters on two different parts of the site, and the main one showed no hits between midnight and about 8am, but the other one showed hits about every two hours throughout the night.... Strange since they're both on the same account, and therefore should both be on the same server.

If any of your visitors came from sprint canada they could still access the tera-byte network.

what's the general opinion about tera-byte?
have they got a lot of downtime:-(
the first look to their website, made me think they are good.
seem to be a big web-host, with a good and fast internet connection. and the prices are ok.
would be interested in the opinion of users from tera-byte.
Think it is a quality host. Or is it a bad idea to get a space there?

Well as long as your not based in the uk you will get fast connections and nodowntime at all. There seems to be some problems with there connection to the uk and parts of europe. Where you could say it bottom burps at times.

Would you still recommend tera-byte for someone working from the UK (but with a US audience)?
Are there any other hosts offering even sweater bandwidth deals (for dedicated hosting)?

were at skynetweb.com right now, they are decent for the price, you get 50GB/mo included with the server.

Blazingly fast, you say? Now that I like the sound of :)
jw: Thanks for the suggestion, but I was thinking more along the lines of 500 GB/mo :) Looks like tera-byte is going to be hard to beat...

While on the subject, what's the deal with 4webspace.com? A similar 100GB/mo RaQ3 setup there seems to be much cheaper than at tera-byte (their big brother)... Maybe someone can point out the obvious for me ;)

They had a couple of problems during those few days, but overall they've been great. And it's hard to beat the price. :)

Many hosts have multiple sites (or subdomains, links, etc.) aimed at different markets. Really that's about all it is.
