Does antone know a host allowing about 300-400 maybe more space?
There is stas.net where my downloads sometimes don't work and sometimes (well, quite sometimes) the site is unreachable. And the pop-ups :( ANd errors on pages :((

Crosswinds seems to me soooooooooo slow. Even registration page doesn't load.

4Office don't have any comments about the size of single file and they don't answer to my e-mails.

NBCI has ad frame. If I need a space for my own banner, mh... where will I put it?! But it seems to be the only choice.

Why would you need that much space?

Storage, warez? Why do you think that I'm so bad? ;)
Just freeware and shareware.

In another thread he suggested making a freeware/shareware site for webmasters. I think you can believe it isn't illegal, or maybe it was a scam to get me to think that it IS legal

No Nick, it IS legal. I don't have conspiracy to cheat you :D

If the files are like common ones you find on other sites, be like http://www.download.com and just link to their servers.

You'd have to get permission from the owners to do this.

4office.net file size limit is actually a variable between 1 and 1.3 megs. ive gotten to 1.3 before. they wont kill storage sites for a long time but they will eventually and they dont allow hotlinking but right click "Save Target As..." gets around that. they must use the same anti leech script as spaceports or the old crosswinds.

I've tested Crosswinds' anti-leech script back when my site was there, and it doesn't seem to work at all anymore. However, I wouldn't suggest using them for storage since their downloads are now slower than HELL! Before I moved to Nbci, some of my .wav files didn't download all the way immediately following their "upgrade" (about a week ago); the browser just gave up on them because the server kept taking long pauses and whenever it was working it was LUCKY to download at 2 kb/sec on my 56 Kbps modem.

NBCi doesn't support files over 200kb.

Yes, I'd like to ask permission to use direct downloads from owners. I think they shouldn't have anything against it 'cause they (probably)want more people to use their software.

Though the banner on *their* site might help offset the cost of serving the files. NBC has a banner so that it helps offset the cost of serving files. (A paid hosting account won't have banners :).)

Wrong! Look at my site; the largest .wav file I have on my site is 967 kb (all my .wav's are radio-quality - about 176.4 thousand bits per second or 21.5 kb/sec - the 967 kb one is 44.9 seconds long). Nbci can support files as large as near 11 mb. The 250 kb file size limit only applies to files being downloaded by FTP; files larger than 250 kb can still be uploaded, and downloaded via the web browser.

The website doesn't support uploads over 200kb, try it yourself.

"Their" online file manager isn't even theirs, it belongs to another company known as "Zy." In fact, you cannot create any more than five pages for free using that file manager; you have to pay to create any pages after the fifth using that publisher, since it is Zy's and not Nbci's. That's probably why it doesn't upload files larger than 200 kb, either. Then again, you can't really blame Nbci for your own inability to use an FTP client.

I can use an FTP client. It is NBCi that didn't add my username/password to their FTP database. Therefore, it's their fault.

Same, I get error accessing route, so I just abandoned my account.

You're supposed to go to an "activation" page following signup. I know, I made the same mistake the first time I tried signing up, but then activated it the second time around.
