Do anyone know a place to buy .us cheaper than godaddy?

Not likely. They're running a promotion for pre registration. I'm not sure if they plan to keep those rates once live registration begins in April. Keep in mind, That this is not even a registry pre registration period. They are basically taking your name (and money) and putting you on a list. So you might get the domain name that you want once the registry goes live.

The only domain registrations being taken right now are for registered trademark holders. These are a 5 year registration.

Hope that helps a bit.

I'm sure namecheap.com will be cheaper when it's available ;)

You probably won't find much cheaper than $14.99 a year.

GoDaddy now has them form $20 for a 2-year domain. Not bad, I might register a few .us :D

Pre-registration is now open for all domains, not just trademark holders, on virtually the same timetable as trademark holders.

The Landrush names will be processed one day after the Sunrise (trademark) names are processed (currently scheduled for April 24).
