The sega dreamcast may be headed the same way as many other consoles.

I have a dreamcast, and I love it :-\ but anyhoo, this is a good move for Sega like the article says because now we can get the great Sega games on the other consoles, and also make the whole console wars a little thinner (lord knows I don't want 4 consoles).
I sure do hope they release Crazy Taxi 2 and Sonic Adventure 2 on the Gamecube :D

So this means that Sega will stop making newer consoles? So in other words, Sega is gonna become a software comp?

Does this mean that they will stop making games for the dreamcast as well? If that is the case, then those assh0les! I will never buy anything (software) from sega again. If they stop making dreamcasts by the end of next year, then i'm guessing that means no one will want to produce any games for it. I got my dreamcast in december of 99 (christmas present), and if they are indeed going to stop making them in march, I'll have only gotten 15 months out of a machine that I got 3 months after it came out! Talk about being raped! That is just plain ridiculous. I hope the company falls flat on it's ---.
God, I hope I'm wrong about them not making any software if they discontinue dreamcast.
Geesh, why can't they be like Nintendo? I got my N64 4.5 years ago, and I'm still playing great *new* games on it, like zelda - majora's mask. Sure, n64 is in it's final days, but at least I've gotten my use out of it.
Ha, if they discontinue dreamcast in march, then n64 will probably narrowly outlast it. Ha, I think that says a lot about sega right there.

whoa, simma down there Rodie. Sega produces some of the best innovative games but everyone seemed to just buy into the PS2 hype :( , you have a Dreamcast so you should know that its a damn good system.
Anyway, Sega is making a lot of new games for the Dreamcast like House of the Dead 3, Crazy Taxi 2, Sonic Adventure 2, NFL2k2, NBA2k2, NHL2k2, Shenmue 2, Virtua Tennis 2, Alien Front Online, Project Propeller Online, Phantasy Star Online, and it goes on.
Sega will continue to make games for the Dreamcast (if they are gonna do software why not program for their little abandoned bundle of joy).
Not only that but Sega is still going ahead with plans to try and include the Sega hardware into PC's and set top boxes.
If you can read japanese, then check out the official press release http://www.sega.co.jp/sega/corp/news/nr010124_2.html .... and even if you can't read japanese you can see 3 distinct things, the number '100' (as in 100 new dreamcast games), and the words 'PC' and 'STB'... as in, putting dreamcast hardware into pc's and set top boxes. You could try babelfish but then nothing makes sense

Check out that article! The X-Box may be able to play Dreamcast games, and that would explain so much... firstly why the Xbox controller looks eeriely like the DC controller.
