I'm 16 years old and I really want my own domain name. Problem is, I don't have a credit card or checks. So for those who are under 18 and have their own domain name and pay for hosting, how do you pay for yours? :)

Well I used paypal since I do have a bank account. Some registrars/hosts also will accept a money order or you could ask your parents to register the domain/pay for hosting for you.

I saved up 15 bucks and got a money order. It's really cheap and effective. You have to find the right company to accept it though.

CRJ I have been there and I have felt your pain, all you have to do is introduce your mom to a website that she would like to buy something off, and she will buy stuff! Worked for me, ALLPOSTERS.COM did the trick

I dunno, but how come every1 gets everythink 4 free? I have 2 pay 4 it myself. I heard that the Post Office counters in GB are now giving away these things called SmartCreds, or something, and there is no age restriction, and u can buy stuff on da net without a credit card.!!!! Cool!!!

I'm also getting a vB license in the same way, and for the other posts here, I have a bank account, I had one when I was 12, but i'm only 14 at the moment so getting a job isn't exactly the right thing, but I still have to pay for anything, I have to give my dad the money and then he will pay :)

My dad ordered a second credit card just for internet use with a LIMIT of 500$ so that's great :)

I use his second credit card whenever I want and then, when he receives the monthly payment report by mail, I pay him

Go down to the post office and buy a money order. Send that to a registrar who takes checks or money orders.

I forget... I will have to look at the progress sheet which is archived. I think Janus 100 or 200.

Hey FlameGrl, do you have to have a certain amount of cash to start one of these visabuxx thing, I researched them before I saw your post, but maybe you'll know since you have one.

It would be very helpful if you remembered and posted the funds here.

Janus funds for last year seemed to be below average, with most fund "returning" negatively and only a couple of equity funds and income funds even breaking the 10% mark.

I'd love to be in a fund even hitting 10% right now, since the bulk of mine went negative last year. A 20% fund return would certainly be a top performer in the marketplace last year - probably the record holder at that.

That is incorrect because I have +20% gains this year.

And I am no idiot. I am taking AP economics so I know what I am talking about.

Then you got bad luck.

thewitt

I'm still looking for the name of the funds that are returning better than 20% - not a hard question...

None of the funds on the Janus website show that kind of return.

Then maybe I am mistaken, but I do remember clearly that there were 20% gains on my papers.

Look, I don't have time to argue right now. Got some work to do.

Giancarlo, normally I stay out of commenting on posts, however, you need to stop posting false information on the forum. There is no way you have a +20% gain on a Janus fund. This dribble is off topic and doesn't need to be posted at all.
