I want to create a match-making website that will do proximity searches based on zip code. I've noticed that osDate doesn't do zip code location, but I think that I found some simple code at sanisoft.com/ziploc that looks relatively easy to incorporate into a larger project.
Is osDate the best platform to start with on such a project, or are there better platforms?

Might be something useful with the Google Maps API. Uhh...Google for it.

osDate is allegedly easier to install than aeDate (which is in German) and yet I can't even get osDate installed. It bombs out on installing calanders data to the SQL server.
As to a reasonably up to date free zip code locator, I think that I found one at sanisoft.com/ziploc.

If you have aeDate in German, and it's not supposed to be then you are probably using stolen/nullified software.

I stumbled across the information while googling. I must have glanced over the annals of a hacker, who’da’thunk? Which brings up the point, why pay for aeDate, if it is both harder to install AND costs money, when osDate is free, supposedly easier to install, and has a larger community of developers?

An infant can install aeDate... it's hard if it's in German LOL, but in English it's pretty straightforward.
Why pay? Becuase it has the Zip Code feature you desire, the free open source example apparently does not.
You get what you pay for.

You've installed aeDate I take it? Have you installed osDate? How easy are they to modify?
I want to make an astrology match-making website that has a modified search engine, as well as displaying each hit with several ratings based on astrological fit. I would also like it to be integrated with bulliten boards, chat rooms and mailing lists.
I know that osDate is designed to integrate with BBS and chat room scripts. How about aeDate?

I've only installed aeDate and it is configurable with "Forums"
That's about all I know though :(
