Who here has heard of this release of Microsoft Windows, or whatever it is. I am wondering what it looks like, because of one of my MSNM buddies says that is when Vienna comes out.
I also hear that it is rebuilt from scratch and not added onto like XP was from 2000 or 98 or something like that.

Vista comes out at the end of this year apparently.

Windows Blackcomb was changed to Vienna. Windows Vienna is the codename for the new version of Windows, probably due to be released in 2011. Vienna would have features that completely change the way windows look, infact the "Start" button for windows would be replaced with a new interface blink.
Even the Explorer Shell would be completely rebuild, changing the way things look and work in windows. And i guess most MAC users wouldent be happy about this, but seems like windows is going to use something similar to the Apple's Dock Feature.

It's not actually Apple's, but rather NeXT's (whom Apple bought, to get a next-gen OS), who first shipped NeXTSTEP 1.0 with a dock in 1989. MS have been really quick at copying that :)
