Okay, as some of you may or may not remember, I purchased all the following recently:

MOTHERBOARD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128307 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128307)

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820223021 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820223021)

VIDEO:

PROCESSOR:

And I have a samsung CD-RW / DVD ROM drive and an HP lightscribe drive, which both can play DVDs, but for some reason when I play the DVD (i have tried interactual and windows media player both), NO sound is put out AT ALL. This is really frustrating me, as I have no idea what the problem could be. Any advice?

Try to find PowerDVD, it should have came bundled with your motherboard or DVD drive.

Although chances are, you simply did not connect the analog audio cable from your DVD drive to the motherboard(assuming you are using onboard).

By the way, interactual and windows media player are HORRIBLE dvd players.

PowerDVD is my first choice, but if you don't have that, give VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) a try.

I know WMP and interactual are bad, but i couldn't find my program that came with the CDRW/DVDROM drive, so i couldnt use it, and figured since 2 programs didn't work with it, the other wouldn't. ANYway the DVD drive is actually external, so it probably is the programs I am using because CDs work perfect with itunes. I will try those programs you all mentioned and get back on here to tell if they worked. Thanks!
