What to do with left over resources?

Was not sure were to put this so I placed it here.

After working on my site for a year or so I decided to buy a VPS. My site is free to the world and of course makes no money. I am fine with that.

I am cruising around and find this site. Looking at the different sections I decide what the heck I will sponsor sites. This is cool I like helping people. Within a week or so I am sponsoring 4 sites.

I start thinking about my server. Umm I say to myself I will split up what is left into 2 sections.

1st section of course contains my site
2nd section for sponsored sites and future sponsored sites.
3rd section is the one I am having problems with.

I got 5G space with about 300G band left on the third section
I decide to place ad in another section here on the site to see what can be drummed up.

My question to you pros out there is what the heck can I do with the space?

One thought that came up besides my original ideas was to offer no frills webspace.
By no frills I mean only thing that gets support is network issues. Or hell you can ask me a question but chances are I won’t know the answer.

If I split up the remain section I could get 15 sites at 300MB space And 10G band per site leaving some pipe open so no bottleneck occurs.

I don’t really want to be a host provider. Yet it would be nice to make some money off the dang thing.

Is it even worth my time to try to sell these items? Really the only thing the customer would get would be good pipe. And a non-oversold server.

If it is not worth my time any suggestions on how I could put the 3rd section to work?

You can try selling the space, however most of the people here are not interested in a quality non-oversold server, they want bottom price and top features.

I'd try selling the spac to friends & family as they will usually be more forgiving if you get something wrong :)

It all depends on what your vps (not server) has as specs cause probably you dont want to overload your vps and make your site slower. So what vps you got and what control panel you using and will offer?

Do you have cPanel? I'm sure a reseller host would love to buy the space off you and use it as their own, that way everyone makes money :P

you can do a couple of things with that space.

you can try downgrading your VPS to save some money.

you can post a free hosting offer with a traffic requirement and require them to put up ads to generate some revenue.

save some space for family or friends as suggested above.

and you can try selling the space. but thats easy
