Hey i know this sounds dumb...

I'm planning to transfer my domain from one webhost to another. what to do?

The only thing you need to do is set the name servers on your current registrar to the name server your new webhost will provide to you. and that's pretty much it.

Thanks... tho i have really no idea on how to do that. Where can i find my registrar? <--- dumb :D

I dont know. When i subscribed on my hosting, they also registered the domain for me. :confused4

Where did you get the hosting from. Some have the domain under their own names and don't give you rights to it. Sometimes reading the fineprint helps.

check your domain whois
http://www.whois.sc/yourdomain
be sure your domain status is unlock then you can transfer it
I just transferred one of my domain last day ;)

Just checked my domain whois. Its under my host's name but i did pay them $6 to register my domain last Oct. 05. The ICANN Registrar is ONLINENIC, INC and current status is REGISTRAR-LOCK It's under my name before but i asked them to put it on private registration so that my name will not be seen on whois. So now its under my webhost's name. I never talked about them yet about me moving my domain.

What's the next step on this? Thanks...

You should ask them unlock the domain and you have to make sure the register email is yours and then you can try to transfer it to others.

Done... my host already transfered the domain under my name. My registrar is OnlineNIC.com what's next? I just want to transfer to other webhost but i think i'll stay at OnlineNIC for now.

Who will i contact now?

If you want to stay with them just do nothing, but you can ask the login page for the domain.
