Domain Dispute

I would like to transfer my domain on a new webhost. I'm having a hard time doing so because my old webhost is not cooperating. Here's what happened

1. I subscribed on a certain webhosting. I pay them $5 for advance webhost payment and $6 for domain registration.

2. At first the whois of the domain has my name on it, but i decided to put it on private registration, my old webhost complied immediately so the whois of my site is now under my webhosts server.

3. Now i discovered that the status of my domain is Registrar-Lock

4. I'm contacting my host but they are not replying...

im no veteran webmaster... so any advice / help will be greatly appreciated.

Consider changing the nameservers

What were the terms of the host in providing a domain with hosting? Another good reason to never to get a domain with your host :S If they go down the gurgler you have lost your domain.
