To Webhost Owners (How much profit you make?)Funion April 28th, 2006, 01:01 I found webhosting interesting, any one can give us profit there making from there business as webhosters? success or failures, :) TJR Networks April 29th, 2006, 01:43 I don't think anyone is going to give you that sort of information, but you might be lucky. vn-sg April 29th, 2006, 01:47 it is not interesting when you are not in love with it. You can not sleep well if your server stop working midnight hehe Sometimes it is really a nightmare,i think most webhoster here have this experience. But you can make money if you know well about server,network,advertising,... blah blah Yellowmc April 29th, 2006, 07:46 I don't know about anyone else but I am making millions, millions of people happy! :) James April 29th, 2006, 08:35 I don't know about anyone else but I am making millions, millions of people happy! :) Thats the main thing (Without financially failing yourself).. Dan April 29th, 2006, 09:02 That kind of information is private business. But let's just say, I am happy so far. :) Richard April 29th, 2006, 09:11 If your willing to spend a over $500 on your company for software and servers, the profit you make will be 100% to 200% higher than your outgoings. if you just have a reseller or wont even spend $100 on your company, your going to make 50% to 70% back. The more you put in, the more you get back. If your going to start a company, expect it to lose money for the first 2 to 4 months, and after that you may gain some. After a year, your be getting loads back. Jovial April 29th, 2006, 09:12 i feel the main factor is uptime and support Richard April 29th, 2006, 09:34 i feel the main factor is uptime and support And the main factor in that is the ammount of money you put in. if you pay for your server to be managed and monitored 24/7 then your uptime will be much better than without. If you spend more money on lots of tech and support workers, your support times are better. B-Z-M April 29th, 2006, 10:33 I found webhosting interesting, any one can give us profit there making from there business as webhosters? success or failures, :) Some hosting companies loose $50/Month some make $10,000/Month. It all depends, just like any business. ldcdc May 1st, 2006, 01:33 A host's affiliate program can sometimes give you a rough gauge, as the host will on average at least recoup the amount spent per sale. NetCafe May 1st, 2006, 02:03 Rumour has it that hottweelz makes enough money to buy a few cars. :) needlehost May 1st, 2006, 05:23 and thats hottweelz personal share, not the company :O X3r0X May 1st, 2006, 07:14 I have enough money to buy a guitar or a small home gym system... next thing you know ill be buying google. If you spend $500 on awesome servers but forget hiring support staff, people to manage and secure your server, having a functional and automated website etc. etc. then you can expect to lose 100%-200% a month. You only get out what you put in. hottweelz May 1st, 2006, 09:34 Someone thought I had 22 Cars... but it was multiple photos... it's only 4 in reality. needlehost May 1st, 2006, 09:35 is one a batmobile? That's so sweet  Anyone who tells you they work for something other than actual cash. Is a liar. heymrdj May 3rd, 2006, 16:48 Because I don't have a family to support, I do it because its fun, and I've learned so much in these last 8 months. Tree May 3rd, 2006, 16:59 Because I don't have a family to support, I do it because its fun, and I've learned so much in these last 8 months. Yay for sentence fragments! shanee86 May 3rd, 2006, 17:45 It gets better in time I would say if you stay on focus. But anyway I make one million a month lol no not really I wish. Tree May 3rd, 2006, 18:34 You sure are a funny one. AvailNetworks May 3rd, 2006, 22:54 That's so sweet  Anyone who tells you they work for something other than actual cash. Is a liar. I work for credit cards :D and oddly enough I do enjoy it too, but of course if the job only paid smiles I would be long gone IndNet May 4th, 2006, 11:49 The thumb rule, as I have understood : RT = 3AC, where AC = 10HC || >= $500 Where: RT = Return AC = Advertising Cost HC = Hosting cost Means, if you spend 10 times of your hosting cost towards advertising, you can expect 3 times return on your advertising cost, being advertising cost is subject to minimum of $500. For example, if you are having a Reseller Account of $25/mo and if you spend $500 (as 25x10 < 500), you can expect to have $1500 return a month (on yearly average), depends upon where you are advertising, no. of packages sold and price fixed for each package. This does not mean that you'll break-even on your advertising cost if you spend $250 a month. Confusing? Yah...I'm still finding a better formula :D jasontd101 May 6th, 2006, 15:11 Anyone who tells you they work for something other than actual cash. Is a liar. More customers you have, the more profit you are going to make. Dini May 6th, 2006, 15:39 More customers you have, the more profit you are going to make. really? no way! heymrdj May 6th, 2006, 17:24 More customers you have, the more profit you are going to make. I did not know that. Man no wonder I've been flubbing this month. :bandit2: | ||||
