Why are .tv domains so expensive?

Also, is there such thing as a .me domain yet?

They're expensive because Verisign get lots of custom from them. If nobody bought .tv domains then they would be cheaper. .tv is actually a ccTLD for tuvulu or something.

.me doesn't exist, but .me.uk does.

I was looking at .tv domains today and the website I was on wanted like $700.00 a year for them. They are cool, but they aint that cool ..lol

I think .tv domains are expensive because tv stations would buy .tv domains.TV stations have lots of money to spend.

Or maybe, the country that .tv originates from is really pov.

the .tv registry held back some BIG .tv's.. like watch.tv. They should usually be $50 other than the premiums.

High pricing for .tv domain is because usually .tv is used for entertainment business purpose, it is not for all the users moreover it is not that sum popular. Although nowadays the pricing for .tv has been decreased. You can get it on 39$ the lowest from domainsite:
