Hi,

I'm searching for a host 4 my fansite. I wasn't really satisfied with my old host for my 2nd (closed) site coz the server had many 5 minutes-downtimes during the last months ..... problems with uploading files an so... anyways it was cheap (5USD/month for 15GB diskspace and 500GB traffic) ...
The fansite, I'm looking forward to be hosted, has many contents outsorced to the closed site... which exeeds on 3rd June...

I'm searching for a host with:

1) >=300GB traffic ...
the more than better ... my maximum was 180GB ... and I will expect a bit more

2) >=3GB diskspace...

3) >=10Mysql dBs with no sizelimit than my avaliable diskspace (MYSQL v4x)
or >100MB for each ... I don't know how big the board wil be...
I need 10 coz 4 the Fansite, the board, a 2nd Fansite, and there will probabely be new projects ...

4) >2MB Max_post_size (for imagupload via PHP)
I don't need offers without it coz I couldn't continue some parts of my website then

5) actual PHP4 or PHP5

6) anonymous FTP enabled
.... its not a must, but it would be a plus 4 You

7) a nice (standard) cpanel
with all standard-features like the AW-Stats, accesslogs, phpmyadmin, errorpages, indexmanager, IP deny manager, cron-jobs, anti-leechprotection, password protected directories, ......

8) 1 or 2 domains
I havn't got one so far... i won't use my old domain... including subdomains (>20)

9) automatic weekly or dayly backups
..... as I have a 10GB limit for my internetconnection. So I can't and won't do it on my own ... thats a must(!!!)

10) 24h online(!!) - support

11) Trail-period
if my scripts won't work with your server

12) other features:
Preinstalled scripts and Frontpage-extension are not nessecary... I won't use them anyways....
webmail, zip-functions, FLash-support is a must, streaming audio, Video-support is a plus

13) no need to say that your severs have to be fast, stable, not many downtimes and have a fast-connection to the internet

14) yearly price <=120USD including all fees for a 1year contract
Payment via paypal, or a save credit-card (Mastercard) transaction

thanks 4 Your offers :))))))))

If someone is offering that much for so little you have to expect there to be "problems".

If you go with a host that is THAT cheap, you will find they are all unreliable. How much bandwidth do you actualy use each month?

aprox 100-140GB, but my maximum was 180GB and I will expect even more ... don't want my site to be unavaliable, and don't want to pay 1USD for 10MB extra bandwidth ;)

oh sorry... ACTUALLY I use 5GB for 120 images and the site itselve
, but some contents from the closed site will be added and the picturagallery will be much much bigger ;)
... the board will cause traffic too

Yeah, you either need to increase your budget or decrease your Bandwidth.

no its not that unusual as you think
some examples:

http://www.netfirms.com/web-hosting-advantage
750GB traffic
20GB diskspace
2 free domains
hosting of 3 diffrent websites
for 10USD

;)

http://www.fanpagehosting.com/?action=webhosting&PHPSESSID=0ebc26125acdb2c488d238a62b929f46
250GB
15GB diskspace
for 10USD
but very stupid limits eg 10 ftp accounts... what are the costs of 1ftp-account? ... the costs for storing 1kB

http://www.bluehost.com/tell_me_more.html
400GB traffic
15GB Diskspace
for 7USD

and here is a full list of host ... some providing matching traffic for me...

all of them overselling, am I wrong?

I could offer, but definitely not within 5$ a month. We are 100% not oversold. Every GB of space on a server belongs to somebody whether they use it or not. So naturally that makes it more expensive. Those "top 10" hosts are good for people with small sites because they never use it all, so the host is safe to oversell. But I base that every client is going to use 100% of his account, and plan accordingly.

Really? All that for 10 USD/month? The best I could do is maybe like..50 GB of bandwidth? That's pushing it too.

no matter about the price.... as long it is <= 10USD, and as long its a stable system with not many downtimes... thats why I want a new host... ;)

I'm looking for as many offers as I can get, but its not that I would take the cheapest offer!!!!!

PS: I would definatly use the resorces I posted here, maybe not now but in a few months or in a year as its expectable if I look at the old site ;) ...

Try any of the above hosts. Wait till use like 10% of the promised bandwidth and voila next day "Your Account is Suspended". Ask them why and you will get reply "We are sorry for inconvience but your Account has been suspended for using too much CPU resources in few hours" :eek2:

No relaible and stable host will give you this for that price. If your current host could really give 500GB for 5 dollars you wont have been here :P

i hate these companies that think they are competing other hosting companies, since they sell with 5usd, obviusly they will not be that stable since all they do is overselling i hate these guys they try to steel people in a different way.

They did not....
they had problems with 1-5 minutes downtimes, thats enterly why I'm here ;)
but yes they suspend an account if he uses too much cpu-power... one downtime they said was caused by an other account who flooded the database with queries...
they have limits have clear limits eg 1800 mails/ day if it frequently more you will get a warning first...
