I thought it would be interesting to see which control panel, amoung web hosts, is preferred the most. I've tried to include as many as possible, but the poll only lets me include 10.

cPanel, it's so simple to use, the interface is great and it's generally a great cPanel.

obviously here cpanel is going to win since everyone uses it. I like cpanel for the mass amount of people but will be switching to hsphere shortly for its clustered and multi platform solutions

I think we need to start a H-Sphere ad campaign!

Used cPanel, loved it, never EVER leaving it. I tried Plesk once, didn't suit me.

I actually think I should add my comments now.
My preference of choice would have to be cPanel for my clients but IMO it's a big bug. It's not very good as a backend control panel and still has many problems. Though lately it has gotten better, but I remember during cPanel version 6 and 7 I had nothing but problems. But sadly my clients prefer it over anything since it seems to have the most options for the clients.

Helm all the way for me :)
Im use to cPanel and all the functions it holds, I can cope with change though
cPanel is by far the best. Although VHCS can be great if skinned properly.
DirectAdmin sets up httpd.conf and other config files funky. I don't like that. Also the admin interface is horrible.

Obviously cPanel easy to use and more stable.

What's H-Sphere?
AvailNetworks
May 8th, 2006, 12:22
hsphere is from www.psoft.net it is a cluster capable control panel so all services do not have to be hosted on one machine. It can be used on small or large scale hosting companies.
there really isnt another control panel that does what hsphere does

If your talking about the demo I posted in another forum. That was a cPanel theme I custom made :P
cPanel. Fast, userfriendly. Some bugs but it is getting better.

CPanel naturally is the most used. But getting more and more annoyed over the number of little annoyances.
One has to stick to stable releases with CPanel if you want a long stable run of uptime. Even the Release builds are risky at times. You can forget about current.
My personal favourite is Windows with Plesk. Solid, sheer power. Pure joy.

HSphere because its the only software that combines Windows, Linux & VPS under one control panel. It is clustered, automated and has integrating billing.
Clustered means that a reseller or customer's account is never located on one server. It is spread over multiple servers meaning that a single server being down affects only a fraction of the total service. Clustering also means increased reliability for each server as each server is configured to run only server (better security and multiple services don't compete for resources)

Huge fan of DirectAdmin here. Was a little shook up on the first impression of it since I had always used Plesk or CPanel. My users love DirectAdmin now. Even the ones who complained at first would never go back. It is absolutely the simplest most understandable control panel available.

DirectAdmin is my favorite control panel. cPanel comes 2nd. Then, Plesk comes 3rd. So I'll vote for DA.
but, h-sphere & helm aren't that bad either, the best free control panel are VHCS & ZPanel.

< 3 cPanel, although heavy on system resources.

On clients point of view I will say cpanel...But personally I love to work on hsphere.

You know that cPanel won't stay the biggest forever :p
H-Sphere and Plesk are going to get more popular soon. I actually don't like cPanel that much anymore, I like to try new things and I've been mostly only using cPanel, I've only been on one hosting package with H-Sphere, & two hosting packages with Plesk 7.5 Reloaded. Now I have to say, I find both better than cPanel ;)

cPanel because the customers practically demand it. Occasionally, you get the few that are smart and know about cPanel's little "eccentricities." :)

I love Helm the most due to it interface, it may not be that user friendly, but can be easily be learn once you know abit more about it.

I don't really get the difference, just install "installtron" on the server for your clients and it would be the same. And you'll be saving money because cPanel is the most expensive control panel out there. I would choose PLESK or H-Sphere rather then cPanel personally. But like you said everyone wants cPanel ;) Maybe start a revolution and boycott cPanel :P (Horrible Idea :D)
I wish I've voted for PLESK, but I voted for DA. PLESK's interface is not that bad, I really like it in my opinion. It supports CF too, where as I don't think cPanel does.
