Hang on... we'll be upgrading the forum shortly to the latest version of vBulletin. That means that the forum will be down during the upgrade. Hopefully the downtime will not be too long.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Is there anything new with the upgrade (forum features?).

Not much. You can add skype in your profile apparently...

I thought it was best to upgrade anyway if we're going to try and install the warning system.

3.5.2 and 3.5.3 were bug and security fixes.

The only feature addition I can see (3.5.4) is SkypeWeb Integration.

Maybe Peo you can add a nice skin and a banner with a good logo. No offence but the forum has started to look lame. :)

A new skin and logo has been suggested recently. I'll see what I can do about that. As I've said earlier when we add a new skin users will have the option to use the old skin if they prefer this old one.

Glad to hear the upgrade went smoothly.

The profile also has little icons around the skype and msn stuff. Pretty cool. :P

I like the new features! hail skype!

I would suggest a new logo also. But I think is skin is ok as it is

I think a new skin would be... excuse my language if any, "jammin'." As I've been here since like forever and it's kind of boring to keep seeing the default skin.

Peo, it also looks like the "dark gray" reputation pip is back as well... but the red one still exists on mine. LeX had a dark gray one when s/he was way down in reputation points instead of the red one. Can't we go back to that?!

Green is positive, red is negative, gray is neutral (0). That hasn't changed.

If you would like, I'd be happy to design a new logo for FWS. My forum creation skills are somewhat limited (no experience in CSS or XML) but I would be more than happy to create nice looking logo's and graphics to use, and combine with someone who has knowelege in this area :).

You can look in my sig for some websites (and obviously logo's) that I have designed, all bar ez-xchange where I simply did the header.

Any ideas of a skin which would work well with FWS? My personal favourite would have to be http://www.vbstyles.com/forum/?styleid=159

I think that one is pretty good, as well as...

http://www.vbstyles.com/forum/?styleid=167 (Aria)

I'm thinking in terms of faster loading... so I'm not including the ones with alot of images.

AH! I remember those last two. Too bad, we should install the classic skin as well as a new one.

IPB has a 1.0 (Classic) Skin for 1.3.1!

Why is that? http://www.vbstyles.com/forum/?styleid=160Let me try and put this in perspective for you:

This is how I currently view the forums:

And this is what the fixed-width skins look like:

I agree with Bruce, but IPB has non-fixed width... I believe for most of its skins. That one theme that Yellow showed us when he said that one questions was non-fixed though I believe... unless that was only the main table with the width="100%"

I like all those, but I dont like commercial skins. Although they are awesome, they tend to be on every second illegal forum you find and are terribly over used. Thats why I believe a custom one would suit FWS better :).

It may be a tad too big for a forum, but even as a main site logo, who knows what could happen :P.

It is, and I would love to have a "Classic" Skin as well as this default and a new skin. Since IPB has a "Classic" 1.0.x version skin for 1.3.1.

if FWS got a new Skin, it'd have to be custom.

You know, I wanted to offer that plan a few days ago if I could get my hands on a reseller.:p

Peo should get a designer to design a custom skin.
