There are alternatives.
Make your own.
Buy wbb2.
Use another forum and change the templates.

I actually think that VB Lite (http://www.vbulletin.com/download/) is the closet to VB for free, cause it is made by the same company :p. But it really doesnt have many features so you should try Burning Board at http://www.woltlab.de/en/projects.php?id=1

It ain't the closest by far. Wbb is a complete copy of vb just with a horrible backend.

well i am still sticking by VBLite being the closest looking to VB, as it is made by the same company. :p

yes, but it still looks like VB, although you are right, wbb is pretty much a rip off, just with a crappier backend.

Actually, in his first post, he just basically copied what you said and reworded it. I think he justly deserves to be called a spammer. :(

I've got to cast my vote for Ikonboard. It uses CGI and a DBM database, so you don't need to know SQL. http://www.ikonboard.com. I'd bet you could install it in 30 minutes or so.

Have you tried the other boards? Ikonboard may be fast enough for you and I respect that if you think its a good board but the others are much faster.
