I need a gaming server for counterstrike 1.6.
The servers should be located close to the west coast. All I need is a 12 man server. My limit is 15-40 bucks a month.

would you be interested in dallas, texas? currently all our texas locations are on sale. Did you have a specific tick rate in mind?

100 tickrate $2.50/slot
66 Tickrate $2.25/slot
Other than tickrate the servers will be no different. You gain access to a full control panel to have start/stop/restart capabilities over the server with file manager and full support. Let me know if you have any questions in getting setup

LpServers prices are not changed by tickrate. If you want a different tickrate all you have to do is submit a support ticket in the game control panel we use (TCAdmin) and we will do it for you.

I've been using clanservers.com for a couple days now, they have a server in Seattle.. $19.95 USD / month including tax I think for a 10 slot pub server. They install AMX mod or any of those admin things for free if you ask them to.

clanservers is crummy after a few days of use, it shall be revealed with time. They are the 1and1.com of game hosting

Public or Private?
100 tickrate isn't anything special. 1000 tickrate is.

whats a tickrate?

tickrate is a setting that makes the data between the server and the client communicate more often.
The easiest way to explain it is this drawing below. At 100 tickrate targets are easier to pinpoint and the game feels tighter and more accurate, 66 is a bit more loose feeling, and even more so with 33. the + symbols represent a moving target and where you are able to hit them while they move
also alot of leagues and tournament require 100 tickrate for a match quality server
The downfall of higher tickrate is a higher strain on the machine and it uses up a bit more bandwidth so some clients may not be able to handle it, although with high speed cable and dsl is isnt much of a problem any longer
---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+ 100 tickrate
------+------+------+------+------+------+ 66 tickrate
