I went to login to Gmail just now and got this:
https://mail.google.com/mail/help/images/logo.gifServer Error
We're sorry, but Gmail is temporarily unavailable. We're currently working to fix the problem -- please try logging in to your account in a few minutes.
Come on, Google. Don't do this to me.

It's good for Google, if anything happens they can just say it was in beta!

I hate google since they said my city was boring. I get the same error all the time, just reload. Pretty much everything google has apart from the web search, image search and news is beta!

Web1.0 -> Web2.0
-Stable -> Beta
If you want something to be Web 2.0, stick a BETA sign on it :P

Why don't you try running a service as big as g-mail and see how long it takes you to perfect it? =)

No, they just kick you out or dont let you login at certain times. Tell you "there's too many users logging in at once" or some such thing.
As for gmail, I really love the system. Thats popped up once or twice, it doesn't really annoy me.
