Why when purchasing a server are the setup fee's so large? 50$? 100$ 200$ I've seen it all. It's crazy. Why so much?

to recoup return on investment. You would simply not believe the amount of people that buy a server for a month then "forget" to cancel and simply dissapear.

Oh, I see. So it's kind of a deposit of some-sort. Say someone pays with a credit card, and they don't cancel the server plan...Wouldn't that mean their credit card will still be getting charged?

not if it is declined or they switch to one that is going to be declined

seems like I deal with this about once every other month....so much fun

You can find a lot of Web Hosts nowadays with No Setup Fee.

Uhm, I mean dedi-servers. Not really talking about sharedhosting and resellers.
