Making a Web Site with Flash

Hm, sorry if this is not the place for this but I am a newbie at making a website with flash. I am using the book "Creating a Web Site with Flash" by David Morris.

I am testing my movie and I am testing the aprts where you click on buttons and it will bring up the new info/new page. This one link opens when I am at my HOME (main page) fine but when I go to another link first, THEN try to open this new info it does not work. But if I go back to my main page, then try to open it - it does work..any ideas? Does that make any sense? Hope so...thanks

well are you loading the other pages externally if not here are some things to look at

make sure you are not using any capital letters in your instance names as it gets confusing you might have put the instance name without capital letters in your action script but not in the instance name of the movie clip :S

another thing you can try is just taking the home page action script and replace the page thats not working with that action script and just change the instance name so that it works for the certain page your trying to open one small thing will ruin the entier thing :S

im still new to flash aswell but thoughs are just some things to be looking at

may i just ask what program your using to build your flash website? and with your question, it seems to be soemthing wrong in your actionscript coding, probably the name of the page your linking to or something.

It looks like your Actionscript code is not constant during the two parts of your design. If you paste your Actionscript here, we may be able to help you.

Alternatively, you can post your actionscript at somewhere like pastebin.com and ask someone on IRC (in #actionscript, on a server like Freenode or EFNet.)
