what is this site lacking? It is a file-based forum. It is my filesystem!!!
However, registrants can upload files themselves, too, and edit those files over the web.
It also has a recursive directory search tool and a web search engine which i hand-populate with all the best sites i come across on the web.
but in 3 years nobody has uploaded a single file.
Here is the recent weblog for it:

It's the design, isn't it?

Try actually submitting it to forums, link exchanges, get search engines indexing it.

the design isnt very appealing, but that is not why. do what X3e0X said, and that should help

what do you mean 'submit to forums'.... usually those are just Q and A, or don't i know what forums means...
search engines do index it quite a bit. Especially google and yahoo and many others.
A link exchange .... hmmm...... good one there.
P.S. never mind the "dir' and 'file' words in the main directory listings -- those are icons WHICH EXIST but i changed permissions a few hours ago and while working on other stuff at the same time I don't know what's going on there. YET.
Thanks for your feedback!! I can handle it!!

well being a designer my self im not sure about other people i do take in the design that design looks like it was made in early 90's :S so i think the design does play apart the old saying build it and they will come is bull in the web world you actually have to advertise your self but the design is kind of embarising no effence
you need somthing colorful but simple. the colors you are using right now almost put me in a coma
you dont have to be a good designer just replace the colors mostly try using a color schemer they have then all over the web just google it

Looks Pretty Bland, You definitely need something to catch ones eye with. Definitely brighten things up, maybe add some graphics, make it welcoming. If I was to just run across your site I would be scared to click on anything, not knowing what this was all about, so maybe a good Description at the top of your page. Good Luck, can't wait to see what changes you make!

its true..the looks dont seem very appealing...but it also seems as though u dont have many links that link others to u...but you seem to have more links from your site to others..if you get what i mean. try placing it up on google or something to get more publicity.

well change the whole design template...add flash animation menu + clear and eye-catchable images. Improve your SEO , add LE and traffic trade script. You have wasted whole 3 years :confused4 :o

at the time, i didn't want any javascript at all. Nothing except what every browser on earth would be able to take. the pages load really fast, because of that. The other sites i saw as a perl developper at that time sucked equally as bad, so i just thought "oh well". Also, I didn't want to put any ads on the site. There's not a single advertisement on the site. It was al just about information sharing, but nobody seems to care about the flesh, they just want and wanted appeal... or something is missing, i know, but getting it is hard. my philosophy has to whole change to make these things happpen. I agreed with those who said the web should have no pictures on it. It should all be about information. A linux, command-line, vi programmer, hard-core straight-edge kind of guy made that site. wasted 3 years, was more like the time it took ...... lots of travelling and working..... to change that hard-line.

Try spicing up the template a little. The it looks now, I dont see why anyone would want to use it.
