I've been thinking about letting customers be affiliates to bring in some sales and they get to make some extra cash by referring them but do you think it would be worth it? I've never heard much about this sort of thing working out but would prefer if someone could let me know if it would work or not :)

Usually you have to give some high payouts before customers will actually find the incentive. Most affiliates that I have seen pay quite a percentage (sometimes over 200%) hoping to gain a long-term contract from current referrals. What you really want are customers who will shout out your name without affiliate programs. A really great read for anybody in a business is Raving Fans. Check it out on Amazon or your local library.

Yes, two of my affiliates are truck drivers. (Sorry couldn't resist with that question)

Generally yes if you handle it right. However it requires custermers that truely value your service. It is WOM with payout.

lol I should have said it another way, thanks for the reply, hopefully some will use it.

I've seen a few of the high paying ones, I was thinking of just trying a low percentage that then builds up until their payout limit is reached and they will be paid via paypal.
