Hmm... it looks nice. The logo is plain but it makes the site look better. I don't really like the overline and underline on the hover, I suggest just making it turn to a different color without any text-decoration, but that's your call. And also, you NEED a better forum than that one. Maybe Burning Board or phpBB?

i'm working on setting up a phpbb...if you could explain to me how to set it up, that would be great. i'm pretty much clueless, but i want to learn how to set it up (not just have someone else do it for me).

did you see the title image for the forum? i'm considering making the rest look like that one (faded color rather than solid)...what do you think?

also, which of these styles is better for the "bccentral" page?
http://members.designheaven.com/~waking/bccentral.html
http://members.designheaven.com/~waking/bccentral2.html

the main reason i would change it to the second is for more uniformity in my site's design.

Setting up a phpBB is very simple. Just read the documentation that came with it. You will also need a host with MySQL and PHP capabilities. If you have trouble with phpBB, you can try http://www.openbb.net or http://www.woltlab.de . All of them work well.

I agree, the fade looks better than the solid for the images.

As for the BCCentral, I like the 2nd design better also because it fits the site.

oh...you mean this?

"In most cases all you need to do is unarchive the the file you downloaded (using whichever application is applicable, eg. Winzip, tar, WinRAR, etc.), upload all the resulting files (being sure to retain the directory structure!) to an appropriate directory on your webserver and point your browser to this location. Everything from this point is fully automated."

so i unzip all of phpBB-2.0-RC3.zip and it makes a folder which i should upload with all its contents? then i do what - open the directory itself, or install.html...or install.php? aah, so many files to choose from. :confused2

EDIT: i changed the title headers to the faded look, and changed the bccentral pages to match the rest of the site's design.

looks kinda plain..but if that's what you want..it's fine..

It looks great now :biggrin2:

As for the forum, just unzip everything into a folder. Upload it to a host that you know has PHP and MySQL. Then use your FTP Program to CHMOD all the PHP files to 755 (I think that's it. Either that or 777) Then I recommend trying to open install.php in your browser. If it turns up an error, just skim through the coding in something like notepad and you might have to configure some settings to fit your host.

I phpBB is working out, also try http://www.openbb.net . Their documentation was really good and their support forum is excellent.

You access install.php and then you follow the instructions from there. By the way the site looks pretty much the same so there is no point in re-reviewing it.
