Jun Luzon June 24th, 2006, 11:46 I checked and cleaned our own free webhosts forum today just to find out that many of them are already gone. Most of the reasons were illegal stuffs and viruses uploaded to their servers that compelled them to shut down.
(Surprised, not one talked about fundings.. )
If you are a free webhost, may I ask how long have you been in this business and/or charity?
:welcome:
trighost June 24th, 2006, 13:05 TrigHost.com has been up since April 2006. So 3 months.
xd3vilx June 24th, 2006, 13:43 My is around for one month already. No intend to quit this industry yet. :D
Jun Luzon June 24th, 2006, 15:17 Months young...
I've been with Arroways, a great free webhosting community.
They've already said at the very beginning that their funds are just for a couple of months. Their service was just so great that I willingly accepted becoming a Mod in the community. Now they are gone...they say because of possible law suits. They only lasted for about 4 or 5 months.
Dini June 24th, 2006, 15:21 Geocities has been up since 1995. Go Geocities!
Bondings June 24th, 2006, 17:11 Well over a year now. Seems short, but it's a lot compared to most free hosts.
Chris L. June 24th, 2006, 19:09 I got 2.5 years here!
TaintedPearls June 24th, 2006, 21:39 Mine has been up for a few months.

GamePhreak July 7th, 2006, 10:55 9-10 months, but our priority is paid hosting, so there's the funding.
By the way, Tripod is so much better than Geocities :P ;)
chris207 July 7th, 2006, 17:29 Well over a year now. Seems short, but it's a lot compared to most free hosts.
We have only been around a little over a year now aswell. As bondings said that is quite long for a free host but it's too much fun to stop now ;)
As long as you are steadily growing and more a buzz a brewin' then it's all good. Keep your users happy and keep letting people know you exist and you'll be around for a good while.
Robbouk July 8th, 2006, 09:29 We've been going now for 6 years.
E2Umedia August 23rd, 2006, 16:24 e2utalk.com is there already for 1 year and 5 months.
PaulP August 23rd, 2006, 16:58 1 year and 2 month now...
Kind regards,
Paul Prozee.

You should state your date format :-P. So did you start in October (USA uses MDY format)?
Mogadishu August 24th, 2006, 01:41 No. (April - I used: DMY).
Meksilon August 25th, 2006, 02:24 You should state your date format :-P. So did you start in October (USA uses MDY format)?DMY is the international standard, the USA is just silly. Just like GMT is the international standard, not PST or whatever it is yanks use.
chris207 August 25th, 2006, 11:45 How many "yanks" do you know in California?
heh..

James September 24th, 2006, 01:30 Hosts come and go, come and go
~GURU~ September 24th, 2006, 06:47 James, it's quite true, hosts come and go, they oversell, they go to school and come back to home try help people, they have no time, they don't know what it takes to get things done!
Well GuruHost has been running stable now for 10 months as free hosting. Sold over the paid customers so now only a free host.
bylla September 28th, 2006, 13:46 Since May 21st 2002.

ZoomCities February 25th, 2007, 08:04 I have seen a lot of hosts come and go.. I think almost 90% of the one's I have seen since I became a member here (2+ years) just vanished... Mainly because of their: "overselling, instant activation and inexperience" so may this serve as a guide and warning to host applicants :)
Meanwhile, I will just stay on my sit here, relax and keep watching ;)

Andrew Walters February 25th, 2007, 14:34 1 year 6 months , and paid hosting funds it
ephekt February 25th, 2007, 15:01 roughly five years now and counting. however, we are a selective free host (no instant activation garbage) so we have good and solid clients.
