This could probably tie in with the bullfighting thing, but this thought of mine arose from a thread on my own forums about humans being a supposed 'higher species'.
I often hear people saying things such as, "It's only bulls!" (As someone said about Bulls being slaughtered, in the bullfighting thread - but please let's not start talking about that in here).
People say it is alright to slaughter animals in their millions for our own consumption.
People say it is alright to test things on animals because they aren't as worthy as humans, and because it helps us.
People say it is better to put an animals life at risk instead of a humans.
Some people claim it's perfectly alright, the things we do to animals and the way we treat them, because we are higher up on the food chain.
Now... what if one day some sort of alien species who were fleeing their a reason that doesn't matter... decided to come here and live on planet earth with us.
Let's say this is an extremely advanced race, and super intelligent.
Compared to them... we are about as dumb as dirty old cows. What if to them, our language and the way we sit around doing stuff all day, seemed like a sign of stupidity and lack of intelligence... so it became obvious to them that they were 'above us'.
Worth more than us.
So they wanted to farm us in the millions for their eating needs; because after much brutal and inhumane testing on us, they discovered that we humans were extremely healthy to the mighty aliens.
They also thought up cool sports, in which we got brutually tortured, but they enjoyed it; and couldn't see anything wrong with it, as well... after all, it's only humans.
Which of course... to the aliens, are like cows are to us.
So these aliens see humans as being here to provide for their needs, since it is obvious we are one below them on the food chain. So they slaughter us for food, experiment on us for medicines, and play painful sports with us.
Would this be right or wrong?
Hypotheticals are so fun. :classic2:
