if you have many hits www.adbrite.com is good otherwise use YPN or google adsense

I believe most free web host earn money through ads. Me earn through both ads and paid hosting.

yups adds also, but if the users don't like adds on their site then start a forum and start a post-to-host host. that way you can put adds inthe forums and the clients have no adds on their site.

what do you actually do uniondance. you work for a host that offers unlimited/unlimited, you have a dreamhost affiliate link in your sig, and you run a free web host company?

Dreamhost doesnt care. The free host is entirely mine, and the unlimited/unmettered is the root host of my free host ;)

Union not to pop your bubble but no root host can have an ulimited space server.

And yes, usually free host providers finance their free hosting business through ads. (The majority!)
And some hosts, also offer paid hosting which also helps finance the free hosting business.

but my root host is a big host with datacenters on El Paso, Texas, not just a simple root host ;)

I'm surprised so many people suggest Adsense. Are you actually putting Adsense on the free pages that the users make? That's just asking for trouble, since you don't have control over the content on those pages. I'm pretty sure that's a TOS violation too, but not positive.

i only put adsense on my main forums, not in the accounts
