realf August 12th, 2006, 08:44 You must upgrade your account to any other paid plan on Boxxhosting.com after two months.
niceboy August 12th, 2006, 09:55 can only use 2 months?
realf August 12th, 2006, 11:12 can only use 2 months?
Yes,it is.
BoxxHosting August 12th, 2006, 11:14 Yes, thanks for making that clear Realf. How it works is you get 2 months on the starter plan then you must upgrade your account. There are ways around this, for example our affiliate program, or by placing ads on your site, you may be eligible to receive a paid plan for free. Plans start from as low as $1.99 so after two free months, $1.99 isn't going to set anyone back that far financially. Also you receive a $50 adwords coupon, so in one sense, you are making a financial gain by upgrading!
Meksilon August 13th, 2006, 00:19 This is not free hosting, it's paid hosting with a free trial period, please post in the correct forum.
BoxxHosting August 13th, 2006, 01:43 Here advertised is is the starter plan, which is free. How long the use is doesn't determine whether it is paid or not.
BoxxHosting August 13th, 2006, 01:59 Sorry, forgot to mention... Many sites are able to remove their two month limit if they agree to put ads on their site, which is a prerequisite for many other free hosting plans.
Meksilon August 13th, 2006, 07:12 You're:
1. using it as a free trial period for paying clients,
or:
2. using it as an ad-free trial period for free clients.
You've advertised this as being "1000MB Space / 30GB Bandwidth, NO ads, MySQL, Fantastico, PHP 4.4.2, Perl 5.8 + more!"
Which is wrong in both cases. In the first case you shift them to paid accounts, in the second case you add ads, so if you're advertising it here as ad-free then you're misleading clients with a false advertisement. You made no mention in your initial post that there's a 2-month limit. You should have mentioned that ads are required from the start of the 3rd month, and you should not have put "NO ads" in the title.
BoxxHosting August 13th, 2006, 08:59 Boxxhosting.com deeply appologizes for any confusion/complication or if it is felt that this thread or the plan is misleading. As a result, we have abolished the 2 month 'trial period', and anyone can stay on the starter plan for as long as they wish. Ads are optional and depending on site traffic, will be granted a paid plan for free.
