don't upgrade apache, it's more trouble than its worth, I suffered hours of downtime yesterday because cpanel have done a half --- job of rewriting easyapache.....still it's beta support atm, so hopefully they'll get it right, I went back to apache1.3
Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/5.1.6 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635.SR1.2

Our server string is just: Apache
krakjoe
October 18th, 2006, 10:59
no actual reason, just curious as to what other people use.
what you mean by just apache ? it must have a signature, and if you don't have at least some modules loaded then your server is insecure.

I've reconfigured the server to just show Apache. There is no need for a string as long as all of the others. Apache is all that is required for proper script detection.

still though, the server signature isn't just apache, it's still got modules loaded and that's what I was looking for .....
