Hey Everybody:
I want to move my Asterisk VOIP server from my home to a VPS (latency, dropped packet issues w/ my current set up). The Asterisk server has very low VOIP traffic so I don't anything heavy duty, but I do need full ROOT access and want the VPS to be located in a datacenter that is serviced by one of the big guys (XO, Level3, etc.). Also, close (or very close) proximity to a VOIP origination/termination POP (w/DIDs, etc.) would be ideal. Both VPS and VOIP termination "under one roof" would be great. Thanks. Mike.

I think my company could help you out with this.
First off though, what are your resource requirements so I can suggest one of our plans? Also, our Bandwidth Transit Carriers are Savvis, Verio, Internap and AboveNet. All Tier 1 providers.
You can either contact me here, via email at aaron@bytefortress.net or on AIM with BFTAaron.
Thanks, and I look forward to working with you.

I reccomend ezsportal, you'll want a good chunk of RAM with the VPS. Also, avoid using cPanel alongside asterisk, as it will only bog down the server. CPU will be your best friend witha sterisk. Just my 0.02, feel free to contact me if you need any more advice/questions.

why did you both write ezsportal instead of eCsportal? :s
anyway, I also suggest you look for a good amount of RAM, cPanel inside the server should be out of the question

Thank you :) And they are correct, if you want a control panel... I would personally recommend Webmin and use the Asterisk plugin.
(Although you can pretty much manage the whole box through Asterisk)
